Life
Rose has five siblings. She was born as the daughter of an American writer Terri and Daniel McGowan. At very small age, with her father’s support, Rose became a child model and started appearing Vogue Bambini and various other magazines. When she was just ten years old, her parents came back to US and got separated. Before coming to US, Rose never spoke English. Rose’s determining years were spent with her father in Seattle, Washington. There she attended Roosevelt High School and Nova Alternative High School. Afterwards, when she grew to the age of 15 years, she went away from her parents. Rose pursed a career in acting during her teen years.
Career
From the year 1998 to 1999, Rose was the face of American fashion company Bebe. She also gripped the chance to appear as the cover model for the Henry Mancini honor album “Shots in the Dark”. This album was which was released in the year 1996. Rose had also emerged on the cover pages of several magazines like Seventeen, Interview, Maxim, GQ, Entertainment Weekly and Rolling Stone. You all will also be glad to know that she has also been honored with the title of being Maxim, FHM and Stuff magazine’s sexiest women.
Rose’s first step in the field of acting was in Hollywood’s side splitting movie “Encino Man” in the year 1992. However she got recognition with 1995’s dark comedy “The Doom Generation”. For this role, at the 1996 Independent Spirit Awards, she was nominated for “Best Debut Performance”. In the same year Rose worked in super hit horror movie “Scream”. Afterwards, she appeared in various independent films like “Southie”, “Going All the Way”, and “Lewis & Clark & George”. She also appeared in much-admired “Seed” in the year 1997. Playing the role of snobbish high school student who endeavors to wrap up a classmate’s murder in “Jawbreaker”, in the year 1999, she won the nomination for Best Villain at the 1999 MTV Movie Awards.
Then she appeared in CBS’s Golden Globe-winning show, “Elvis”. On this show, she portrayed the role of Ann-Margret, in the year 2005. In the same year, she gave her voice in a video game “Darkwatch”. Then in the subsequent year, she got an opportunity to appear on Academy Award-nominated movie, “The Black Dahlia”.
Afterwards, she appeared as Cherry Darling in the much admired movie, “Grindhouse” in the year 2007.

Those days, it was also being rumored that she is dating the director Robert Rodriguez. And afterwards, these rumors went absolutely right and their relationship became public when they appeared hand in hand at the Cannes Film Festival, in the year 2007. However, the couple has been reported to get separated in October 2009.
When Rose was a kid she used to do sleepwalking. Whereas now she speaks Italian while sleeping. Rose McGowan is also troubled with an anxiety disorder, agoraphobia.
